The Brain That Wouldn't Die Review

Hello Darlings
Bunny Galore here the queen of the cult movies, for thoughs who don't know me I'm a British Horror Host who presents cult movies on sky channels Information tv ch 212, Showcase ch 191, Showcase 2 ch192.

And to kick off my review of films I'm starting with one of my new favorites!
The sexy and head tastic The Brain That Wouldn't Die

Last year I discovered this movie through the revival series of Movie macabre hosted by the ultimate horror hostess herself Elvira Mistress of the dark  and also through Cinema Insomnia  and its incredible host Mr Lobo

This frankly delightfully bonkers movie started was completed in 1959 but not released till 1962, its working titles was The Black Door and The Head that Wouldn't Die (a far more descriptive title of what happens)

The plot concerns a successful scientis Dr Corter and his fiancée Jan. After a horrible car accident decapitates Jan, Dr. Cortner collects her severed head and rushes it to his laboratory, where he revives it and manages to keep it alive in a liquid-filled tray.

Cortner now decides to commit murder to obtain an attractive new body to attach to his fiancée's head. As he hunts for a suitable specimen, Jan begins to hatch some murderous plans of her own. Filled with hatred for Cortner because he won't let her die, she communicates telepathically with a hideous mutant in the laboratory cell!

If ever a film knows how to give good Head its this one! The sight of jan in the pan is a B movie wet dream! up there with the other vivid cult films like Plan 9 From Outer Space and Robot Monster

My favourite scenes involve the doctor's trip to a Burlesque club (as some of you may know I preform regularly at London Largest Burlesque night The Wam Bam Club ) The dialogue between the dancers is stilted and unconvincing and the resulting cat fight comedy GOLD!

So we have a served talking head, a mad scientist, a Burlesque cat fight and a monster in the cellar

So darlings settled down with a nice strong cup of tea and join me for THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE! watch me introduce the whole movie here
